The AFL Ladies Grand Final Eve Luncheon, hosted by The Cabal Club, is taking place again this year on Friday 28 September 2018 at The Victory Room, Etihad Stadium.
Now attended by over 1,000 guests, this event is attended by passionate advocates for improving the health futures of Australian women. With all funds raised being donated to the OCRF’s innovative ovarian cancer research projects, it is an opportunity to support a cause that impacts every woman, everywhere.
About The Cabal Club
In 1996, amidst the male-dominated world of AFL and VFL, a group of nine women created The Cabal Club. Cabal, meaning mystery and intrigue, was created to allow women involved in football an opportunity to get together and have fun. What began as a 50-strong gathering of passionate women has evolved into a prominent yearly event, which acts as an opportunity for women to not only socialise, but also give back to a a charity that is shining a light on ovarian cancer. Because whether it is a mother, a daughter, a sister or a friend, too many of us have a connection to ovarian cancer.
Supporting innovative ovarian cancer research
Devastatingly, this disease claims another life every eight hours in Australia alone. With only vague symptoms and no test, it is the most lethal of all gynaecological cancers. Only through the support of fundraising events such as this can the OCRF continue to fund exciting research projects that are discovering the pathway to a test that will save women’s lives.
